Save the Children Libya
The Education Advisor/Manager will lead the emergency education response within Eastern Libya.
This will include responsibilities for
devising programmes based on the findings of the recent Education assessment conducted in eastern Libya
drafting generic proposals for short-term and longer-term education interventions and
contributing to the education sector component of the response strategy.
The Education Advisor/Manager will have an important external relations role to play as Save the Children’s primary interlocutor with the Education Committee of the Provisional Transitional National Council (PTNC), UNICEF and education actors in the wider international community. This currently includes coordinating the Education Working Group with the Ministry of Education. It may also include initiating and leading the education response as and when funded, writing/contributing to additional concept notes and proposals and ensuring tight integration and coordination with other sector programmes The Education Advisor/Manager should ensure that all aspects of work are undertaken in accordance with Save the Children’s Policies, while also ensuring that the INEE Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies are promoted and underpin all proposed and interventions.
Timeline & Start Date:
This position is for an immediate start and is initially for a period of 3 months which is subject to possible extension to up to 6 months.
