Manos Creadoras Foundation is a small NGO created on 2001 that worked with disadvantaged families and kids, especially Internally displaced people. Actually we are working in Ciudad Bolivar: one of the localities which concentrates the poorest population in Bogota, Colombia. Ciudad Bolivar is not only one of the main districts receiving internally displaced people victims of the conflict, but also receives combatants from armed groups (guerrillas, paramilitaries, criminal gangs) . Our program focuses on Education, Economic, Social and Cultural development to improve the well-being of families and specially females heads of households and children.
We have in mind new projects so we need to strengthen our fundraising strategy. That´s why we are now looking for someone who will be interested in working as a Fundraising manager. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in the Not for Profit or International Development sectors in developing countries.

Essential Criteria
Fluency in English and Spanish.
Highly developed communication skills, ability to network to build successful relationships.
Community development experience in development countries.
Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
Knowledge of fundraising techniques.
Internet skills.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to build relationships with potential new funders locally, nationally and internationally and cultivate existing relationships with donors through phone calls, ongoing written contact and face to face meetings.
Fundraising experience: Experienced in successful grant proposal writing, or record of successful fundraising.

Duties and responsibilities
Identify and approach prospective major donors, (individuals, foundation and corporate).
Research for potential new donors and identify and apply for new funding opportunities – nationally and internationally.
Build relationships with donors and prospects via phone calls, ongoing written contact and face to face meetings.
Compile and maintain a database of international donor organizations (international foundations, private corporations offering donations.)
Document meetings and interaction with donors in the donor database
Identify and build a database of websites that offers online resources to support searching for grants from foundations.
Preparing funding applications according to donor guidelines.
Write and present proposals to prospective donors.
Developed a Fundraising plan

This is a volunteer position.
The position is available now for an immediate start.
You will work 40 hours per week around a flexible schedule.
You will have to cover your costs for food and to travel to Bogotá
You will receive free accommodation in one of the NGO director´s house.
It will be for 5- 6 months and can be extended and paid if funds are available
